You wish to visit some of East Africa’s finest National Parks, Private camps and beauty sports and you wish to travel in style and comfort while enjoying the luxuries of life whilst you seek a pride of Lion, heads of Elephants, Cheetah hunting, Buffalo fighting until the vanquished retreats or that rare species of Gorillas in Uganda so elusive, flying is the only solution.

The best way of achieving this is to take a light aircraft, “Flying safari to the game parks”. Flying avoids many hours of bumping over rough road, and enables you to spend most of your time at your destination rather than in between. rom the aircraft, typically at heights of between 2000 and 4000 feet above ground, your view is spectacular with large hills and mountains visible over 100 miles away.

This tour is perfect for those who would like to experience Africa’s most amazing wildlife encounter, tracking the rare Mountain Gorilla. This package can be booked as an add-on to any Safari in East Africa or as a standalone package.

Day – 1 – Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

You will check in at Entebbe International Airport and board the Cessna Grand Caravan for a scenic flight over Uganda to Kihihi Airstrip, where you will be met by our vehicle. You will then be chauffeured to the Luxury Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge, located in the Buhoma Sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

A gourmet lunch awaits you prepared with fresh ingredients from the Lodges gardens. After lunch and some time to relax you will be invited to join us for a guided walk to explore the various plants and birds that we find along the way. In the evening we will enjoy the sunset and an early dinner, before retiring to our comfortable rooms to prepare for an early start tomorrow morning.

Accommodation: Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge – Luxury lodge bordering Bwindi National Park. Meals & drinks: Lunch & dinner, drinks included (Breakfast not included)

Day – 2 – An Encounter Like No Other.

We rise early before heading to the ranger station. On arrival the rangers will select the family in which you will be tracking, depending on your requests, the distance of the family, and your fitness level. You will then receive a briefing from our lead ranger, who will go over the regulations and give you a briefing of the family members that you are about to meet.

A hike that can be fairly easy or very demanding depending on the location of the gorilla family that day. The trek can range from 30 minutes to 5 hours, before we encounter the family. Your rangers will inform you to prepare yourselves and your cameras, leaving walking poles and day packs behind. They then slowly lead you into the middle of the family where you will have up to 1 hour to enjoy this magical experience.

After our one hour is up we start our hike back to the ranger station, stopping to enjoy a packed lunch in the forest. We then head back to the Lodge to relax and reminisce of this special experience.

Day – 3 – Gorillas From a New Perspective.

After an early breakfast we head to the ranger station, where we will be assigned our tracking group. The lead ranger will give you a briefing about the family you will be visiting this day before we head out to make our encounter.

This second day of tracking provides you with a special opportunity to visit gorillas again. Often during the first experience participants are nervous about being around these large (but gentile) animals. Focused on trying to get a great picture to share on Face book, the experience goes by far too quickly. The second tracking is often much more memorable as it is easier to put down the camera and simply enjoy.

Again, after tracking through the forest we will eventually encounter the family where we will have up to one hour in close contact. You now have the special opportunity to observe the animals, without the stress or pressure that you may have felt the previous day.

After our time is up, we will then make our way back to the ranger station.

Accommodation: Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge – Luxury lodge bordering Bwindi National Park. Meals & drinks: All meals, drinks included.

Day 4: Bwindi to Entebbe.

After a relaxing morning, guests will be invited to plant a tree to help to protect and expand the last remaining areas that the Mountain Gorillas call home. You will then be transferred to Kihihi Airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe departing at 14h05 and arriving in Entebbe at 15h55 (an early morning flight is also available most days). A day room or overnight accommodations can be arranged upon request (optional at extra cost).
